The idea of producing p-toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA) on an industrial scale was initiated in 1993 during a discussion between two faculty members of the chemistry department of Isfahan University of Technology (IUT). Then after signing a technology transfer agreement with IUT and sharing with a well-known business group, Sepahan Farzin Chemicals, Research & Manufacturing Company (Ltd.) was born. Construction of the first stage of a plant, in an industrial park just outside the city of Najafabad (Isfahan province), was completed in a record time of only three months, we were on stream!
